Just happened to find this web site while surfing. I regret that I don't remember a lot of names but would like to hear from some of the men. The Marines I served with were great guys that I was very proud to serve with.
At the time Russell was hit I was S-3/A on LZ Alpine at a forward FDC. We fired in support of Neville that night when we stepped in it. I took over Hotel Battery on Russell as CO shortly thereafter until some new Captains rotated in. I was 1st Lt at the time. I then went to Golf battery as the XO where I finished my tour in Nam.
