More from Bob Chatigny
On Christmas Day 1968 we were setup on an LZ near the DMZ. About a click away was an Army unit on another LZ. When a Huey came flying over our LZ with Santa Claus sitting in the doorway, waving at us, we watched it land on the Army LZ. I then asked the gunny why we couldn't have Santa Claus come to our LZ and see us? His response,"Son, if the Marine Corps wanted you to know why, they would send someone out here to tell you".
