Welcome to the FIRST issue of SITREP.  This was created to kill several birds with one stone. 

SITREP (which is military jargon for "Situation Report") replaces our "Announcements" section and will allow us to create an archive of announcements.  Those will be fun to look back on, say in 10 years.  It's part of the new streamlining the LZ is undergoing.

SITREP replaces the email newsletter.  This will end a lot of duplication that was also in the Announcements section.

SITREP also replaces our Bulletin Board.  Any announcements you would like to share can be posted here. 

In addition to all the LZ News, our members can submit interesting articles and pictures of just about any subjects they may feel may be interesting to our members.  You may stumble on something really funny on the Internet.  You might have some thoughts to share about our situation over seas.  Or you might have some VA information for everyone.  Naturally, we cannot post everything, but if your subject is non-political, spelling corrected and keeping in the general positive spirit of our web site, then it will probably be posted.

Please send no Email Forwards with all those "<<<" in them.  Whatever you can do to clean up your submissions will be deeply appreciated by the editor.

The sections are limited in this issue, but no doubt more sections will be added as our members think them up.
