This was in the march 2000 issue of leatherneck; “CWO-4 Ronald Lee Reck, 47, in Grand Praire, Texas. He served for 29 Years. As a Corporal in Vietnam, he won the Silver Star on Feb. 25, 1969, while a member of E-2/4 at Fire Support Base Russell, in the Quang Tri Province. He manned a machine gun during a ground attack by the communits. He then assulted enemy positions with his pistol, killing several of the enemy, and assisted in evacuating fellow Marines who had been wounded.”
