HAU VIEN KINDERGARTEN SCHOOL

KITCHEN PROPOSAL

In 2002 the LZ Russell Association in partnership with East Meets West Foundation provided funds for the building of the Hau Vien Kindergarten in Cam Lo District, Quang Tri Province.  In 2004 several members of the Association expressed an interest in making designated donations to be used by the Association for upgrades to the school which included cementing the playground, playground equipment for the children and cooking utensils at the school.  You can view pictures of these upgrades by clicking here.  There you will also find a very nice letter from the school Principle expressing her gratitude.

The LZ Russell Association Board has been approached by several members of the Association who would like to make designed donations towards the building of a kitchen area at the school.  The children are at the school all day and  presently the food is cooked and brought in from some distance.  The school has no control over what is prepared or the quality of the food.  A kitchen on-site will better enable them to provide  quality hot food.  The Board has directed that general funds of the Association will not  be used for this project, but funds that are donated specifically for this purpose, “designed donations” will be accepted.

East Meets West Foundation has obtained two proposals from contractors for the building of the kitchen and the cost will be $1,350.00 USD.

If you are interested in contributing to this specific project, please send your donation to Robb Mitchell, Financial Director of LZ Russell Association.  This can be done by making a check payable to LZ Russell Association and mail it to:
