The Veterans Viet Nam Restoration Project (VVRP) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whos primary mission is to provide American veterans and others with opportunities to return to Viet Nam for humanitarian service.  They operate under the premise that returning to Viet Nam, working directly on community projects and returning to places where they served helps “veterans heal the legacy of our war”.

VVRP actually forms teams of veterans to return to Viet Nam to work on community projects.  These teams began going to Viet Nam in 1989.  Their projects have included:  Friendship Clinic in Vung Tau;  surgical unit at the Children’s Hospital in Vinh, solar-generated electricity and purified running water in My Lai; and built five houses for veterans in the Quang Tri Province.
